Oftentimes, we would sit and speak with people who would be plastered drunk, cursing, smoking, and obviously living a life filled with sin. Many of them would profess that Jesus was their best friend.

How would people live if they have truly surrendered their lives to Jesus?

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

1 John 3:9
No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.

Galatians 5:19-21
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

One night one of the street team ministry participants asked me: “These people who claim to be saved yet live a life filled with sin, are they really saved?”

I replied: “Only God will decide who will and will not enter into heaven for eternity. The one thing I do know though is that if Jesus comes into our lives, then Jesus should be flowing through us and coming out of our lives.”

]]> In our passage below, the Bible declares that there is protection by the power of Jesus’ name. So instead of asking God to provide protection, we should just thank the Lord for the protection available by the power of his name.

John 17:11“I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name—the name you gave me—so that they may be one as we are one.”

We do not need to ask for it; we just thank him for the protection.
