Jesus Got Whatever He Desired-Was he rich or poor?

By examining a few Bible stories about Jesus, we can see that He actually was rich because Jesus could get whatever he wanted. Now please take note that the miracles He performed were in alignment with his Father’s will.

Why I Think Jesus Was Rich

A) Jesus was able to turn water into wine at a wedding and the supply never ran out. See John 2

B) He fed five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fishes. Refer to Mark 6

C) He paid his taxes with a coin that was found inside of a fish’s mouth. Look at Matthew 17

D) He traveled with and provided for twelve disciples.

E) Judas was his treasure. You must have money to have a personal treasure.

Whatever Jesus desired he was able to get. Rather than having a huge abundant supply of funds that would purchase whatever he needed, his faith in God delivered miracle after miracle. Do you think Jesus was rich or poor?

Be Grateful God has Done Great Things

God has been good to us. What are some of the things that he has done for you? When we remember the great things that he has done in our lives, we will find a place where our faith begins to be renewed. The more I thank God for what he has already done the more God will take care of things I am presently facing.

Psalm 77:11
I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.

It is faith that moves the hand of God on our behalf not the circumstances that surround our lives. Take a moment to recall some of the great things that God has done in your life. Find those situations from the past where God proved his promise that he would never leave you. Trust God today with every area of your life. He loves you! He can handle all of our difficulties.

Why Isn’t God Answering My Prayer?

We tend to want things right away in this day and age that we live in. Is it any wonder that our attitude is this way in America? With convenient stores on every corner, fast food restaurants at our fingertips and microwaves in our kitchens, we are able to instantly gratify our desires.

Psalm 84:11
For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.

“God, why aren’t you answering my prayer?”

Consider what our verse says today: “No good thing does He withhold.” Maybe what I think would be a good thing, God knows it would be a destructive thing to have in my life. This is just one of many possibilities as to why God isn’t answering a prayer request.

Don’t Let Your Heart be Troubled or Afraid, Just Trust God

John 4:27

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Jesus is speaking about simple faith in this verse. Just trust God with your life today. Don’t complicate things by worrying. Do not be troubled about all the affairs in life and do not fear. The Lord has promised to never leave us or forsake us. Revelations 19:11 declares that the Lord’s name is Faithful. Rest in God today and give him all of your cares because he cares for you. Trust in the Lord and he will direct your steps. With God on our side, there’s no need to be afraid. He just wants us to trust Him.

Prayer: “God help me to trust you with all of the things that I am troubled about.”

Today’s Daily Devotion

John 14:12
I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

I believe that Jesus is telling the truth. I am not afraid to pray for healing because that is what Jesus did and healing occurred. I am not fearful of telling people that God is alive and real. Jesus did and many believed. You and I are the result of others sharing about God’s love and goodness. I choose to put my faith and hope in the words Jesus has said, he said we would do what he did, so blind eyes and deaf ears become opened at our command. Don’t be afraid to pray for miracles, there is a better chance of miracles happening when we pray than when we do not.

Prayer: God help me to become more like Jesus. Take away fear and fill me with faith and boldness. Place a special grace upon my life to win souls for your kingdom.

Thought: If one person came to Christ today because of your boldness, how many others might make it to heaven?
