If you are a believer and trying to practice your faith in God on a daily basis, then He is pleased with you. Think of how many people are blatantly ignoring the Lord. What about the ones who look righteous on the outside, but on the inside they are full of deception? You are not like that; you are God’s child. He loves and cares for His children.

Psalms 145:20
The LORD watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.

Sometimes I think we get caught up in thinking we have to do all these things right in order for God to be pleased with us. This is not true. He desires for us to continue to become more holy, but he is not condemning towards us if we fail. God sees the intention of our hearts. He knows who his real kids are and He loves them with an undying love.

If you are seeking after the things of God daily and pressing into getting closer to Him, He is pleased with you. God smiles upon his kids, the true believers who want to spend time with Him.

When we surrender our lives to God and accept Christ as our personal Lord and savior, our spirit becomes born again. When our mother brought us into the world, we were born in the natural flesh, but when God caused us to be reborn -it’s our spirit that new life was given to. The Bible says that our spirit bears witness with God’s Spirit that we are children of God. (Romans 8:16)

John 4:23
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.”

John 3:5
Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’

A true worshiper has been spiritually reborn through the power of Christ’s death and resurrection. This is the only way to worship in spirit and in truth. Because we have become God’s children through surrendering our lives to Christ, our spirit can connect with his Holy Spirit and true worship can happen. Any other type of worship is considered false worship in the eyes of our Lord. You must be born again!

I think by examining how we spend our time, we can answer the question, “Is God the Lord of my life?” I cannot answer this question for you and neither can you for me. The truth can only be revealed by examining our own lives. The Bible says that we are to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith (2 Corinthians 13:5).

How do we spend our time?
On what things do we spend our money?
Whom do we rub shoulders with on a daily basis? Jesus?

Matthew 7: 22
“Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evil-doers!’”

The only way to get to know someone is by spending time with them. If we are rubbing shoulders with Jesus Christ every day, then God is really the Lord of our lives. When I talk to him and listen to God constantly as if he is right there with me every moment of every day, then I believe that he is really the Lord of my life. Take a few moments and examine yourself. Is Jesus the Lord over everything in your life?

What of that which we have is so important to us? Do we even know the things that we are bound to?

I once heard a story about a man testifying that he gave all the money that he had in an offering once. It wasn’t much, but it left him with nothing. He was testifying how in the years to come since that day- God has richly blessed him with so much that he has become a millionaire. He was attributing his success to reaping what he had sown that day he had given all he had in the offering. Someone in the church assembly yelled out: “I’d like to see you give all that you have now in the offering!”

Hebrews 13:5
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

If God has said that he will never leave us or forsake us, then what more do we need than that? Being content in knowing Him in this way should be more than enough to satisfy us. Once we have experienced a loving God working in and through our lives, the cares of what we do or don’t have will fade in the light of His presence. Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!
